The Way It Often Happens

Several months ago, I went to Taste of the Valley with Duchess, B, and The Canadian, and sampled food from many of the restaurants in the area. While we were there, we put our names in a drawing for gift certificates to the different restaurants. Apparently they do weekly drawings for different restaurants. I faithfully check every time but never see my name; at least, not until today.

Today's drawing was for La Carreta, a restaurant I've never been to or had any desire to patronize. So, of course that's the one who draws my name. I swear, if I went on a game show, I'd probably win a boat.
